Very relaxing position right by the canal. Surprisingly quiet considering the cottage was next to the pub.
Mrs Steel, Bristol, July 2010
Lovely location plenty to see, nice walks & beautiful scenery. Pub next door handy and people very friendly.
Mrs Pidgeon, Truro, June 2010
One of the best properties we've stayed in, very cosy, quiet and comfortable.
Mrs Tomblin, Poole, June 2010
We loved how the cottage was directly next to a pub! We thought the cottage was so lovely and cosy, perfect for us and made our New Years Eve very enjoyable! We didn't want to come home!
Miss Voss, Altrincham, December 2009
The location was lovely. The house was pretty much perfect for our needs - a bunch of friends wanting to spend Christmas together. The owners were very helpful and all of the locals we met were welcoming and friendly and fun.
Ms Macneil, London, December 2009
Location of the cottage was very good. Loved being next to the canal and having the option to use the pub next door is an additional attraction.
Mr Daubney, Lincoln, October 2009
A very comfortable cottage and I would love to return. The 'Telford' pub was on our doorstep, very friendly and good food. Our dog was also accepted. There are plenty of areas to visit.
Miss Deaval, Tipton, October 2009
Aqueduct and canal fascinating. Although the property was situated next to a pub it was surprisingly peaceful.
Miss Herbert, Leven, July 2009
The cottage was clean and had everything you could possibly want. It was warm and inviting. A friendly welcome was given when handing over the keys (including a bottle of wine!!) Would recommend this to anyone who wished to be near a canal and pleasant countryside.
Mr Whitehouse, Darlington, June 2009
Llangollen 4 miles. A wonderful Grade II listed detached cottage, situated in an idyllic canalside position next to the magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. The Aqueduct has World Heritage status and carries the Llangollen Canal over the River Dee. The property is over 200 years old and has a fascinating history having been the original pay office for the canal toll. Lovingly renovated by the current owners, it offers every modern comfort, whilst retaining many original features such as beams in the upstairs rooms. Barges can be hired nearby (daily hire available) for a memorable voyage across the aqueduct or through the Vale of Llangollen into the town itself – an idyllic 4 mile trip. The historic Telford Inn, next door, serves food year round and has a wonderful canalside garden.
Three bedrooms: 2 x double (one with colour TV with Freeview and DVD), 1 x twin (gives access to 2nd double and has no natural light). Modern bathroom with bath (shower over), washbasin and WC. Spacious fitted kitchen with dining area. Delightful sitting room with feature coal effect gas fire and views of canal. Note: The stairs to the first floor are steep.
